All-In-One Water Conditioner

Keeping your aquarium, pond or lake healthy requires some added nutrients and beneficial elements to allow the healthy balance to be maintained in the water. A healthy balance in any ecosystem requires a bit of assistance from time to time and this is when adding a full spectrum pond conditioner can help reverse the damaging effects that can cause green waters, fish kills, algae or actual odors in aquariums and ponds and lakes.

We have tested many so-called "all-encompassing" pond treatments but have found many lacking in performance. The Liquid is one of the most satisfying and comprehensive pond, lake and aquarium water conditioners on the market that we have tested in the last 15 years.

People have asked us if they should be adding chlorine to a fish pond, of they should pour bleach into the waterfall to kill algae, the old wives tales abound when it comes to maintaining a healthy pond but the reason we like to use is that it does what it says and in a very cost effective way! I'm like many of you who are looking for a cheap or homemade algae killer for my pond...well I've gone to New Mexico and back and haven't found the product that compares to this PK Liquid water conditioner.

Adding the recommended dosages of Liquid, will combat a series of typical pond problems in fish tanks, water gardens, pond and large lakes. .
This is one of the most comprehensive water conditioners on the market today and offers complete water conditioning of fish ponds, water gardens and aquariums. All-In-One Water Conditioner does what would normally take several products to accomplish such as:

• Remove chlorine and destroy chloramines
• Detoxifies heavy metals
• Adds essential electrolytes
• Replaces skin slime coat
• Reduces fish stress
• Removes ammonia and nitrites
• Maintains alkalinity

All-In-One Water Conditioner is not a medication, chemotherapeutic agent or economic poison. It should be applied with regular water changes or when new water is added to maximize the dechlorinator benefits. This formulation is compatible with most other water conditioners and antibiotics, along with beneficial bacteria. It is not compatible with strong oxidizing agents and should not be used with unchelated copper medication as it will inactivate the free copper.

Muck Remover
The biological removal of muck and sludge from ponds, lakes and canals is an ecological way to eliminate organic sediments from ruining shorelines and making swimming impossible. Safe muck eating bacteria are blended from anaerobic bacterial mixtures and enzymes that specifically target the thick, black, stinky muck that is common in ponds and lakes.

Diet for a Small Lake
The Expanded Guide to Lake and Watershed Management

The expanded guide to New York State lake and watershed management, 2nd edition. Lake associations and citizens play a vital role in protecting and restoring our lakes and waterways.

This book is an introduction to understanding and managing lakes. Lakes and their watersheds are natural treasures for us to use and protect.

Together these rich resources supply abundant water to support thriving communities, provide recreational opportunities, and spur economic growth in an area.

Managing Lakes and Reservoirs

Understandable and useful, Managing Lakes and Reservoirs addresses the enormous amount of information on lake management that has developed in the decade since the publication of the manual’s first two editions (Lake and Reservoir Restoration Guidance Manual, 1988 and 1990).

The first two manuals dealt primarily with restoration of lakes, but this third edition moves beyond restoration issues to focus on ongoing management of lakes and processes that communities of citizens, policymakers, scientists, and enforcement agencies can use to achieve desired outcomes for their local lakes.

All Natural Treatments For Ponds, Wastewater Basins, Lakes and Fish Ponds

I have been a fan of Bacta-Pur® liquid bacteria ever since I visited some pond managers who had tremendous results treating their ponds with the range of natural cultures from Bacta-Pur®. I visited a golf course in South Carolina who had been treating their water hazards with the product called Bacta-PUR® Pond to reduce the algae growth they had been seeing year after year.

The product contains a natural, and safe for people and all life forms, mixture of 12 strains of natural bacteria that helps to solubolize organic deposits and actually breaks down sludge and pond and lake waste products into natural fish food!

Unlike those harmful algaecides or chemical treatments, using the environmentally friendly beneficial bacteria is a way to actually holistically regenerate and rejuvenate ponds and lakes!

Fields of application include:
• Wastewater treatment (domestic, municipal, industrial, agricultural)
• Water body restoration and water quality improvement - reversal of eutrophication from lakes and bays to farm, golf and garden ponds to aquaria.
• Fresh and salt water aquaculture - increasing survival, growth, feed conversion efficiency and sustainability, from ponds and raceways to sea food holding systems.

The IET-Aquaresearch Ltd multidisciplinary team has decades of both practical and technical expertise in wastewater treatment, aquaculture, water body restoration, ecological engineering, industrial fermentation and microbial ecology. Understanding the processes involved in these different fields is one of our strengths. We provide the technical support essential to attaining the desired results cost-effectively and with respect for the environment. Technology transfer across different fields of activity is ongoing and is a key to successful use of the Bacta-Pur® System.

Improves water quality, reduces ammonia and nitrates, helps control algae naturally & removes pond muck, shock-treatment and cold water treatments. I have used and seen used the liquid bacteria called Bacta-PUR® ever since I became a believer after seeing that golf-course. When I did a little research into this Canadian company who actually "creates" this incredible safe liquid pond bacteria I came to understand that this International Company known as IET-Aquaresearch LTD, based in Canada with offices in Europe, has become one of the most prestigious and premier suppliers of Government Approved cultures for pond remediation in North America and surely throughout the world.

Bacta-Pur® Pond Use Concentrated All Season Liquid PV
Bacta-Pur® POND is what I like to use as a mixture between XLG and N-3000, or better yet...it is the best of both worlds that uses the denitrification properties of N-3000 plus the sludge and muck devouring properties of XLG to create one exceptional pond bacteria. This is the standard bacteria I recommend for most ponds or private lakes. It's a good product that has passed several reviews and has the references to back-up the claims of effectiveness.

A proprietary mixture of 12 strains of bacteria to help maintain clarity of water to the strict secchi disc parameters as well as the ability to solubolize organic sediments and, waste products, sediment and sludge and turn them into fish food basically! This product is recommended for ponds and lakes from 8,000 gallons to 30 acres. Please ask us for dosages and application rates as the rate of application for pond bacteria is not always a consistent ratio with large water bodies!

Bacta-Pur® XLG Use Concentrated Lake Bacteria
Bacta-Pur® XLG contains 16 strains of natural, pathogen-free bacteria specifically designed for decomposing organic sediments in ponds. This is what we often call muck or sludge. The voracious organic bacteria in XLG literally consume all organic materials in ponds and are a key tool when we are attempting to reestablish depth in a pond that has an unwanted accumulation of muck and smelly sludge at the bottom.

Bacta-Pur® XLG is an ideal bacteria in colder waters and we often use it in tandem with a dry bacteria that has certain temperature parameters that must be respected because the XLG can be added to any water body at any temperature as long as there is not any ice covering the pond.

I often treat the ponds I am taking care of with a dosage of XLG in the Autumn and in the Spring. In a way a pond is like a swimming pool because shock treatment at the beginning and end of the season is a really good idea. We would never use chlorine to treat algae or muck in a pond because it can be toxic to life but the use of a natural bacteria can only help in restore the cycle of life because the consumption of nutrients and elements by the bacteria create food for fish, insects and frogs.

When you are doing an end of season cold-water treatment with the XLG to help remove leaves that have fallen in to the pond or lake I recommend about 2 gallons for every surface acre of the XLG followed by another treatment two or three weeks later. So if you have a pond of 1 acre I would treat with 2 gallons as soon as the water temperature reaches 40 degrees Fahrenheit or around 5 degrees Celsius and then follow up with an equal application two or 3 weeks later.

This regime would be repeated in the Spring. As soon as the ice has gone, if you have ice in your location, do a shock-treatment with 2 gallons per surface acre. Follow the initial treatment with an equal-size application in two weeks. This is an ideal shock treatment! The cultures in this natural pond bacteria do an incredible job of keeping waters clear and reducing the muck buildup at the bottom. This is the bacteria that has been so successful in doing what they call "bio-dredging" where the use of microbes has replaced the mechanical digging and removal of pond and lake sediments. This bacterial mixture comes with activators which should be added, mixed and activated according to the directions. If you have any questions on the application of liquid bacteria please email us.

Bacta-Pur® Sludgebusters Use Muck Pellets
Bacta-Pur® Sludgebusters is effective at biodegrading waste and sludge waste buildups that accumulate on the bottom of ponds, water-gardens and lakes. The sludge layer, which can have a sulfur smell or a thick rancid odor like a musty organic fart, can result from a buildup of fish food that has been uneaten by koi or trout or any fish as well as leaves from trees that lose their leaves after the Autumn Solstice.

This decomposing waste material from uneaten food, leaves and fish and bird poop can accumulate and turn into a black thick sludge that can cause the clogging of pumps, filters and pond pumps! These decomposing nutrients and resulting chemical buildups can produce noxious odors and even toxic gases that could cause fish-kills or other problems! Using Bacta-Pur Sludgebusters will enable you to biodegrade these wastes and compounds which, when used properly and regularly, will result in less pollution, less ammonia, stress and diseases!

Pond owners know that there are two common forms of algae that are bound to show their mucky green faces at one time or another in the life of a pond. Often a pond will suffer bouts with algae many times during a season. While there are chemicals to help knockdown algae my approach is to use natural methods of algae control.

Bacta-Pur® N3000 Use a specialized ammonia/nitrite remover
Bacta-Pur® N3000 is the ultimate mixture of 12 strains of bacteria for nitrite and ammonia removal. The effective liquid is renowned for nitrate reduction (denitrification) as well as complete nitrite removal (nitrification). This clean mixture accelerates the startup of biofilters and of course one of the benefits we love beside the reduction of ammonia is reduced nitrite accumulation!
