Consultations & Design Assistance

Get expert advice, product advisement, verification of plans or procedural recommendations for your pond or lake project

Our paid consultation services are available for everyone from private pond owners to Lake Associations or Home Owner Associations or Municipal Managers who need assistance with projects.

Our pond consultation services can be structured around your needs and budget. The cost of our consultation services depends on what sort of information and assistance your project requires.

There are many ways we can work with you. We can work on a retainer basis and be available to answer your questions, working closely with you by phone and email to ensure a smooth progression of your project for the duration of our service contract. We can be hired to simply help you find the best products for your project and tell you where to buy them at the best price.

Return on Investment
Save time and money by helping you choose the best products for your project. If we don't sell the products we will know where to find them and will send you directly to the source. In larger projects or with pond and lake associations we can look at data and help evaluate pending treatment options in order to help your group make the best choice to achieve treatment goals at the best possible price.

The easiest way to find out what level of service you require is to email us a few details about what you require. We can respond to your initial email with a cost estimate for a consultation.

Soilfloc® Pond Sealant

Polymer Pond Sealant
Soilfloc® Sealant is the best polymer based sealant available for your canal, irrigation ditch or watering hole. Specifically designed to find leaks, whether in the floor, the wall or through rock formations and seal them. Soilfloc® custom blends linear and cross-linked polymers to seal any type of soil, for any sized project.

Muck Remover
The biological removal of muck and sludge from ponds, lakes and canals is an ecological way to eliminate organic sediments from ruining shorelines and making swimming impossible. Safe muck eating bacteria are blended from anaerobic bacterial mixtures and enzymes that specifically target the thick, black, stinky muck that is common in ponds and lakes.

Dock Bubblers
Bubbler systems use perforated tubing placed at the bottom of the water around a boathouse, dock or wall. When using diffuser lines to protect your dock from ice damage there will be some fairly common installation procedures: place the air compressor in a ventilated cabinet or shed and run an airline to the structure where a weighted bubbler hose is placed at strategic points around the dock or against the wall.

Pond Books & Guides

Please use our website to find the answers to your questions about pond and pond tips for keeping a healthy pond. Please understand that due to volume of requests for help we may be forced to charge a fee for our services. You will be notified if your request requires any fees. Most questions do not and we answer them at no charge to you.

Throughout the years many pond owners we have worked with have expressed frustration at finding real experts in the field of pond repair and revitalization. Most consultants are employed by companies who sell products and in many cases one pond owner can consult three pond experts and come up with three different strategies for dealing with common pond problems.

We help you choose what you need.

Does your pond need aeration? Maybe it does maybe it doesn't but if you ask someone who sells aeration systems they will certainly tell you to buy one of theirs.

When you use our Consultation Services we will first help diagnose the source of your problem and then provide you with a list of strategies for reversing the problem. We will provide you with concrete steps to take and the recommended type of system or products that may be needed.

With your "Pond Report" in hand you can then be responsible for the purchase of the required materials and proceed with restoring the pond, lake or water garden. But before you buy anything we can help determine if you are getting the best value for your money by also analyzing any price quotes you receive from pond supply stores and helping you find ways to save money.

The choice of compressors, beneficial bacteria to fight algae, the placement of diffusers, or the restoring clarity to water and preventing fish kills can be daunting tasks especially when many pond supply stores are trying to sell products and often at higher prices that necessary.

Pond products of all sorts can be bought on eBay or over the Internet but often, while prices are low, the quality might be questionable or there may be no after-sale service offered.
We have dealt with hundreds of suppliers from retailers to wholesalers over the past six years so we know what something should cost and can suggest the best place to buy it.

Take pond bacteria for example. There are dozens of retailers who sell different blends and brand name bacteria products for ponds and water gardens so why is there a range of hundreds of dollars in price for what appears to be virtually the same product?

We've gathered the information on what works and what doesn't and it isn't always the highest price pond bacteria that works best. We can tell you what cheap bacteria works and what cheap pond bacteria to avoid.

Another example we've seen time and again is aeration systems. Do you need three diffusers? Will a linear pump work or should you use a rotary vane compressor or a piston driven pump?

If you can get through to a real person at an aeration products company you may be told that you need one type of pump or compressor that may be not quite right, or overkill, or just a waste of money.

There are many variables that can add repair costs and maintenance costs to compressors in aeration projects and it helps to be forewarned of any issues that may arise with the particular merchandise. Different companies will try and sell you or your company different things and sometimes these recommendations might not be in your best interest.

Before you buy, we tell you how to save money.
By using our Pond Consultation Services you are virtually guaranteed to save money on your project. If we don't sell the products you need we will tell you where to get them. We are just helping people with ponds make the best of their investments. We've seen too many pond owners being lead down the garden path by so-called pond experts who end up overselling them thousands of dollars of products and we are doing something about it.

What is included when you hire our consultant to be your personal pond expert?
The answer is simple: we can include as much as you need. A simple answer to a few questions can cost $20. A more detailed recommendation and recipe for success can cost a few hundred dollars. It's more than just answering your questions. It's being available to help throughout the season with issues and problems of your pond.

One example: After studying the information you submit to us we will send you a recommendation of treatment and any products that would be required and the recommended application rate, positioning and operational maintenance that will be required.

We will then evaluate up to three price quotes you receive and help evaluate if there are additional ways to save money on your treatment, aeration project or pond restoration project. We will provide a final recommendation based on your product requirements as to where to purchase these products whether it be an aeration system, a fountain, natural bacteria, a water pump, windmill etc.

You will be contacted by the Pond Report and we will begin by explaining conditions or issues that need addressing as well as treatment recommendations and a list of products that may be required.

If you desire we can recommend the best pond supply store to purchase any products that you may need or any specific item you have requested: i.e.: a floating fountain, windmill, solar aeration, pond bacteria, pond dyes etc..

The Pond Report Consultation Fee is like an insurance that you will not be taken advantage of by a pond supply store or a consultant who makes his living by selling products.

The Pond Report Consultation Fee as an assurance that at the end of your project you know you will have potentially saved thousands of dollars; and more importantly you will avoid the pitfalls and costly traps that misinformation can bring
