Windmill water pumps work with aerating, compressed air windmills or electric air compressors. Two types of windmill water pumps are available, the air-lift pump and the horizontal pond and lake pump. The airlift pump is mainly used in wells and cisterns and the horizontal float pump is used as a pump that floats on the surface of a lake or pond to pump water into a tank or outlet hose to a garden, 2nd pond etc.
Windmill water pumps cannot be used to make a fountain as the water flow is not strong enough to create a jet spray of water. It could make a small spray but would not be very decorative.
Horizontal Windmill Pump
This pump is perfect for pumping water out of a pond, stream or lake. Many people use it for filling stock tanks, irrigation, keeping a pond full, etc.. It requires that it be submerged in at least 24" of water and weighted down with at least 75 pounds of weight for effective operation. Works in conjunction withWind Driven Windmill Aeration Systems or Electric Aeration System.
These are a very popular windmill pump with very good service reviews. You simply plug the outlet airline from your air compressor to the pump and connect another line to the outlet of the pump and when the windmill turns you will have up to 3 Gallons Per Minute pumping into your tank, pond or trough.
Designed to pump up to a max 3.0 gallons per minute with a maximum 40 foot lift.
2" AIr-Lift Pump
This pump is designed for 2" and larger water wells, cisterns or even pumping out of a pond. Uses air and air pressure to lift the water to the surface and out the discharge hose. This high quality air pump has zero moving parts and is made out of 304 Stainless steel so will last virtually forever. These pumps work on a submergence principle, which is calculated based on the total depth of the well (where the pump intake is set) versus the water column in the well itself. The greater the submergence, the higher the discharge rate. Ensure your air pump or windmill aeration compressor system can provide enough PSI for the depth of your pump position in your well, cistern or pond system.
Works with wind driven & electric aeration systems.
